Free Coffee Giveaway!
This is day 5 of a 7-Day Blogging Challenge hosted by Jeff Goins, and this is my FAVORITE challenge yet! I’m doing a GIVEAWAY! You know I love coffee and giving gifts. Details at the end!
There are a lot of incredible coffee shops in Nashville, but The Well is my favorite. I fell in love on my very first trip to Nashville and it’s been a regular haunt ever since. I don’t just come for the coffee, though it’s good. I come for the heart and vision, the kindness and knowledge that my money is going a little farther here.
I wandered in on a Sunday break a few weeks back, saw something like church happening. A man stood up, well spoken in his navy suit jacket. Conversations about faith…the intersection of business and community…you are welcome here.
He’s one of the founders, and he teaches at Lipscomb, and he loves his students and the people here and probably the world. I could just tell – you don’t start a business to give away every cent of profits without a heart like that, and his passion oozed from the cracks of his words.
Baristas kept calling out drinks from the bar. I heard the rattling rush of beans poured into the grinder, and nobody seemed bothered by the clatter.
At the end of a talk about mission, the intersection of faith and culture and doing things that actually matter in the world, plates passed around with paper cups, grape juice and crackers, and I took a portion. You’re welcome here. This is an open table.
I held the cracker, held what it represents in my heart, smiled as I took it. Some around me participated, others didn’t. No pressure, not a lot of fanfare, a sweet moment of faith and love intersecting with the community.
The Well is a non-profit coffeehouse, business bred with mission for the sake of loving the world. The founders were just some friends, struggling with their own bills and busy lives. They weren’t wealthy by American standards, but realized they had much to share, plus experience and skills and heart.
So they decided to do something. They started a coffeehouse to build community and love in Nashville and give every cent away. One hundred percent of proceeds go to water projects and creating hope around the world.
That’s why I love this place. The team hasn’t settled for fear or “it is what it is” when they look at the brokenness of the world. They’ve done something beautiful, and invited others to enter into that story. By choosing to put my money where I know it does good, I am making one more little dent in the darkness. And that is a story I love to be part of.

I feel guilty for participating. But its good!!
You can participate! I just may not draw you ????
I love coffee and I loved your post!
Thanks, Laurie!
Sarah,
Your words are so lovely! Also, your passion for coffee and people is sooo admirable. Sounds like I need to make the trip to Nashville soon and try out The Well myself!
Aww, Macy, Thanks! You should totally come for a visit!
Great post and I’m a fellow fan of Jeff’s work. I’m also a fan of coffee. 🙂 Thanks for the opportunity, Sarah.
Thank you, Cathy! Jeff’s work is great! And of course, so is coffee!
Coffee!! ????☕️
Thanks for stopping by!
What a fun way to celebrate what you do…write stuff and drink coffee ????
It’s bAsically my favorite ????????????
How fun! I love coffee. 🙂
Me too!
I’m in!!
Yay!
I’m so curious about this coffee. I haven’t had the pleasure yet to try it. 🙂
Maybe you’ll get the chance 😉
What a wonderful post and a highly commendable ministry. One of Grace and Bella’s favorite books to read when they come to visit, is “Children at the Well, The joy of clean water!”, by Lora C. Redmon. Even at their young age they have learned the importance of clean water and the impact it has on whole villages.
That’s awesome, Mom! xoxox
Sarah, once again, beautifully expressed. I am so glad I discovered you through this challenge. I look forward to reading more of your hopeful, life-giving words (and drinking some amazing coffee!). Thanks!
Aimee, thank you! I’m so happy we connected, too! <3
This reminds me of The Potter’s House in Washington, DC. They started up as a non-profit coffee house and ministry of Church of the Saviour in the 1960s. So glad to have found you and your blog. Put me in for the drawing for coffee!
Thanks, Jamie!! So glad you’re here 🙂
Coffee! Yay! I’m a huge coffee fan as well – there’s nothing better than a good macchiato! Glad to have found your blog through Jeff Goins’ challenge (even though I’m wayyyyy behind on the assignments 😀 ). Thank you!
Mmmmm, macchiato! I usually drink this stuff black, but I love the fancy drinks, too 🙂 So glad to connect with you, Lois!
I’d love some coffee. Please enter me if it’s not too late.
Not too late 🙂
